Bio

With a long history at Los Angeles Trade Tech College, Sherwyn Morgan was hired as the Men's Basketball head coach in June of 2023. Morgan has done a remarkable job creating a culture of success both on and off the court. He holds the Women’s Basketball program to a higher standard.  Trade Tech College women’s basketball program is constantly being discussed as one of the upcoming programs in the South Coast Conference in Southern California.

Morgan brings pride, tenacity, professionalism, and his hard hat approach back to Trade Tech where he played for the men’s program in the 1998-99 season before moving on to Cal State University Bakersfield and playing for the Roadrunners for two years. Morgan was an excellent point guard / shooting guard and one of the state’s top sniper shooters shooting over 40% from the three point line. Morgan attended Dorsey High school and was one of the top shooting guards in the city 4a section as one of the city’s leading scorers and leading Dorsey High to the City Championship game in 1994.

In just two years he has accumulated ten all conference players, 4 first team, 6 second team and 1 all State player. Leading to four players transferring to four year universities. More importantly has been Morgan’s ability to develop local high school athletes and turn them into successful collegiate basketball players. In addition to his duties as the head Women’s Basketball coach.  Coach Morgan also serves as the assistant coach for the Men’s Basketball program.

Morgan’s personal experience as a community college athlete and a NCAA division 1 transfer gives him a unique insight into the process of getting athletes to reach not only their full potential but the next level. He has and will continue to use his skills to assist dedicated young women and men to get where they want to be. Those who have been coached by Sherwyn will tell you that he has a way of getting you to give the best of yourself.
