What looked to be a tough battle against the #4 ranked East LA College Huskies ended up being a cakewalk for #6 LA Trade-Tech, who established a 10-point lead after 10 minutes of basketball and never looked back.
Cheyenne McKinnie led the Lady Beaver offense with 27 points, and was helped by three teammates posting double figures: Cheyenne Givens with 14 points, Deejanae Poland with 11 points off the bench, and Kemanie Patterson grabbing 12 rebounds. On the other side, Jadis Watson had a double-double night with her 13 points and game-high 14 rebounds. While the teams were pretty closely matched in terms of shooting percentages, and each had an identical 28 points in the paint, ELAC's 23 turnovers proved costly as they resulted in 21 LATTC points.
Next up for the Lady Beavers is a rematch on the road at Mount San Antonio College, where they look to get even after dropping their first contest to the Mounties 76-60. Tip-off is set for 7pm.
