Despite putting up 70 points and winning the second half 46-37, LA Trade-Tech was never able to overcome the East LA College Huskies' 13-point halftime lead, ultimately falling 74-70 for their second loss in their last three games.
Erickson Gonzalez-De Leon and Mark Chin led the Beavers offense with 17 points each, while Fredelin Dela Cruz added 10 points and a team high nine rebounds.
East LA's field goal accuracy proved to be a deciding factor; their 59.2% field goal percentage was nearly double LA Trade-Tech's 31.4%. Outscoring LATTC 38-18 in the paint certainly didn't hurt their chances, either.
The Beavers hit the road to play Mt. San Antonio College on Friday night for a 5pm tip-off. LATTC won their previous meeting against Mt. SAC 65-60.
